Villa Bastos was conceived as a modern family retreat in one of Yaoundé's most prestigious residential neighbourhoods. The client — a Cameroonian family returning from Europe — wanted a home that bridged international design aesthetics with the warmth and functionality demanded by life in Cameroon.
Our team handled the full scope: architectural design, engineering, civil works, roofing, interior finishes, and landscaping. The design opens the ground floor entirely to outdoor living, with covered terraces overlooking a rear garden and pool. Natural stone, exposed concrete, and local hardwood create a material palette that is at once refined and rooted in place.
Construction was completed in 18 months. The home features 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a double-volume living and dining area, fully equipped kitchen, home office, staff quarters, and a 15-metre swimming pool.
